Denny Fleenor
I joined CAHNRS and WSU Extension in 2001. As part of the Marketing and News Services team I serve as a liaison with news media, particularly those in western Washington, and provide a variety of communications services including writing, photography, and video production.
Prior to coming to WSU I spent nearly a decade as chief media contact and spokesperson for Sound Transit, the regional transit agency that has brought rail transit and regional bus services to the central Puget Sound region. I also have worked on such complex issues as health care financing, resource conservation, and state legislative issues.
My background includes 15 years experience as a broadcast news reporter/editor, and manager in the greater Seattle area, time on state legislative staff, and PR agency work that included lobbying the state Legislature on behalf of clients.
I’m originally from Spokane and maintain strong ties in eastern Washington. My wife Mary and I have lived in the Puget Sound area since 1970. Mary is a founder and co-owner of Panda Photo Lab in Seattle, a commercial lab offering a full range of digital and film services. We have one grown daughter who lives in Shoreline.
