New Energy Program Director Takes Helm
PULLMAN, Wash. -- Jake C. Fey began duties this past week as director of Washington State University Cooperative Extension's Energy Program in Olympia.
He directs a nationally recognized staff of 50 engineers, researchers, technical specialists and customer service personnel who conduct research and disseminate information to help people make informed decisions about energy.
"I'm delighted to be part of the organization," Fey said. "My intent is to make sure that the citizens of the state and the other audiences that we serve know about and utilize our services and receive greater value from them."
Among other things, the Energy Program promotes energy efficient construction standards, serves as a fuel-neutral source of energy information for the industrial sector and provides training and technical assistance to businesses.
Before joining WSU, Fey was energy services manager for Tacoma Power for 13 years. From 1980 to 1988, he was energy conservation supervisor for the city of Tacoma.
From 1976-1980, he worked as an energy conservation manager at the Washington State Energy Office, which since 1996 has been part of Cooperative Extension.
