PULLMAN, Wash. – More than 80 cattle producers are registered to attend the Cattlemen’s Boot Camp Thursday, Jan. 3, and Friday, Jan. 4, on the Washington State University campus.
WSU faculty, staff and industry experts will cover a broad range of topics of interest to producers, according to Kris Johnson, WSU professor of animal sciences, including calf health management, animal identification systems, effective use of functional genetics, source verification programs, crisis communications skills, marketing alternative-branded products and consumer preferences.
The event begins at 9 a.m. Thursday in room 203 of the Smith Center for Undergraduate Education (CUE). Some of the events will take place at the WSU Beef Center and the WSU Meats Lab. See the complete schedule at http://www.angus.org/WSBootcamp07.html.
