Pullman, Wash. - Steven R. Craig, Associate Professor in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, will deliver the John E. Halver Endowed Lecture at 3:10 p.m. on Friday, October 5th, in room T101 in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Building on the campus of Washington State University.
Hosted by the Department of Animal Sciences, Craig’s presentation is titled “Aquanomics: Application of Gene Expression Technologies for Aquaculture.” Topics include comparative nutrition between fish and terrestrial animals, and Craig’s research group’s lab efforts at directing microarray technologies and gene expression—from a zebrafish model to species of economic importance in the aquaculture industry.
The John E. Halver Endowed Lecture honors the research and achievements of John E. Halver, and features nationally and internationally recognized speakers who present new and exciting topics in the general area of comparative animal nutrition. The lectures bring together science and knowledge from around the world, and help establish Washington State University as a leader in animal nutrition.
