BVD Teleconferences Scheduled March 14, 19, and 24
PULMAN, Wash. – Dr. John Wenz, assistant professor of veterinary clinical sciences at Washington State University, will discuss a new Bovine Viral Diarrhea Control and Eradication Project with beef producers and local veterinarians and answer their questions during telephone conference calls scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on March 14, 19, and 24.
The goal of the project -- a joint effort of WSU Extension, Veterinary Clinical Sciences and the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Lab -- is to promote cow-calf herd health by facilitating implementation of infectious disease control Best Management Practices and to screen herds for persistently infected animals to control and ultimately eradicate the virus from Washington’s cow-calf herds.
Although not required, producers and veterinarians can register in advance to participate on any of the dates by calling (509) 335-8225. To participate in the sessions call (509) 335-1700 and press 1 to attend a meeting. When prompted, enter the meeting ID number: 6057 followed by the pound key. The maximum number of callers per conference call is 24.
