Business Planning Course Available for Westside Farmers and Growers

EVERETT, Wash. – “Agricultural Entrepreneurship – Tilling the Soil of Opportunity,” a 10-week course in business planning for current and aspiring small-scale farmers and other agricultural businesses will be offered in Everett beginning later this month. The course is being offered by Washington State University Snohomish County Extension.

The course is designed for those who are currently operating or interested in starting a small farm or agricultural business. Classes will cover all aspects of business planning, including assessing resources, budgeting, developing marketing strategies, finances and legal issues. Participants will write their own business plans as they progress through the course.

Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. from Jan. 16 through March 19 at University Center at Everett Station in downtown Everett. Registration for the full 10-week course is $250.

The instructor will be local farmer and recent Gourmet Magazine featured farmer Linda Neunzig of Ninety Farms in Arlington, with guest speakers providing their expertise on a wide range of topics.
